| What age is it best to get Long Term Care Insurance? Some think after 65 years of age, but if you wait until then your cost is very high. The younger you are the better for many reasons. Long Term Care is not an elderly only policy. If you go to a LOng Term Care facility you will see many people of all ages in the care of specialized care takers. You can need a long term care facility just for your recuperating time, if you are hurt in a accident, and have a sickness that keeps you from doing the daily functions on your own, like bathing, eating, walking, getting into the bathroom by yourself, getting in and out of bed. You may only need Long term care for a few months, a year or more.

| If I have a claim does that cause my insurance premium to go up? No it does not go up due to claims history. claims on Health Insurance do not affect your premium, your premium is set by your zip, age, health profile. Insurance does not base premiums on one person or family.
Some insurance companies premiums have a yearly, or a every 6 months and a birthday rate increase or decrease. Some have a time frame on the premiums, no rate change for one, two or even three years on some polices, depending on the insurance company.

| Why should I have Pre Paid Attorneys Most people can not afford to ask a question from any attorney or get advice without coming out of pocket 200 plus dollars, it is like having health or auto insurance, you can call anytime during bus hours and get help for things you would try to take care of yourself. Like not going to a doctor when your sick because you do not want to pay the doctor. You may pay more in the long run by ending up in the emergency room.

| Can I see my Medical records yes, yes, yes.... and you should. Everyone need to know what is in their medical records, it is your right. You may find that the notes and such are not correct. You have a right to ask your doctor to have another look at those notes, labs etc and correct them. Of course the doctor has the last say as to if they are correct or not. But ID theft is a big issue now with medical records so it is good to be aware of yours and your children records.

| Does Medicare take care of my Long Term Care No, this is a major misconception. Medicare may take care of some medical therapy, medications, things of that nature but it does not cover Long term care, as some may call it; assisted living, a nursing home, foster care for elderly.
Medicare is similar to health insurance for 65 and older and you have to get a medicare supplement policy to work with the medicare.
What covers Long Term care is a LTC policy, or you use your own money to pay for your monthly expenses, rent, etc.
If you have no money or assets to pay for the care, then you can apply for medicaid, and medicaid only pays for medicaid approved centers, you can not stay at home and get care and use medicaid. You also have limited choices as to which facility you can stay in.
